Some women may experience post-abortion stress, suffering from one or more of the following:

  • Guilt

  • Grief

  • Anger

  • Numbness

  • Disturbed sleep

  • An inability to be around babies or pregnant women

  • A pre-occupation with their decision

These symptoms are not uncommon in women following an abortion, sometimes they occur straight away, other times many years after the event. But they don’t have to be a way of life. If you’re living with these challenges, Alternatives can offer you support and help you on a journey of recovery. A qualified counsellor will meet with you in a safe environment and help you process your feelings towards your abortion.
