Our shops are run by a wonderful
team of staff and volunteers.

If you have a few hours a week to spare and would like to join us to make a difference in the community please contact us for an application form.

Watford

Opening Hours:  Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm

Our original Mother & Baby Charity Shop is open at 15 Clarendon Road, Watford, WD17 1JR (Opposite Watford Palace Theatre). Come and visit us and shop for good quality second hand clothes, equipment, toys and books for babies and children aged 0-5 years and for mums-to-be.

Alternatives Watford is accepting donations on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10am-4pm and Saturdays between 11am-2pm. Parking is available for drop offs at the front of the shop. Please call ahead to ensure we have space to receive your donations.

Hemel Hempstead

Opening Hours:  Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm

Our Mother & Baby Charity Shop is at Unit 3, 160 Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, Herts, HP1 1BA. Come and visit us and shop for good quality second hand clothes, equipment, toys and books for babies and children aged 0-5 years and for mums-to-be.

  • Alternatives Hemel is accepting donations on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10am-4pm.

  • Large items and large quantities of donations can usually be brought to our back door on Saturdays between 11am-2pm only. Our back entrance and carpark is accessible via the service alley next to the Salvation Army building on Waterhouse Street. Turn right at the back of the SA building, then veer left up into our car park. Our back door is just to the right of the “stilts” underneath the new flats. Please call ahead to ensure we have space to receive your donations.

  • Collection of large items can usually be made from our back door on Saturdays between 11am-2pm only.

For health and safety reasons we are unable to accept some donations, which include:

  • Booster seats

  • Car seats

  • Bike helmets

  • Incomplete nursery furniture

  • Broken or incomplete pushchairs
